Our Story
CCI didn't start in marine construction. Shawn Buchanan, Owner and President, founded the company as a concrete contractor after decades in the construction industry. Then came a bad hurricane season and with it, a surge of requests for seawall and concrete repairs along Florida's coastline. That pivot defined the company. Marine construction became the focus, and it's been all we do ever since.
What began as a one-man operation has grown into a full-service marine specialty contractor, primarily serving Florida's east-central coastal markets, with project experience across the state.
Florida Roots
We're not contractors who came to Florida to work the coast. We grew up on these waterways — boating, fishing, and swimming in the same rivers, lakes, and shorelines we're hired to protect and improve. That familiarity informs how we work: with care for the environment and a genuine understanding of what these public spaces mean to the communities that use them.
Our Team
Shawn's daughter Lindsey joined CCI in 2013, bringing operational and administrative leadership that helped scale the company's project capacity and systems. As Vice President, she oversees operations, project management, and business development and represents a growing generation of female leadership in the marine construction industry.
Together, they've built a team that takes pride in the work and understands the responsibility that comes with building public infrastructure.
